City Life

Not too much exciting happened this week.  We had interviews with the mission president this week.  Because we are the Zone Leaders we were scheduled last and President Brennan fell behind and he said I'll get your interviews later this week.  Then on Saturday, we went to the MSU 3 district council and we had our interviews there.  We literally sat through trainings all day from 9:30 A.M. to 3 P.M. It was a long day of meetings, to say the least.

We had dinner at the Micmillins this week.  The reason that is exciting is because about 6 or 7 months ago I was on trade-offs here in Lansing and we were knocking a street and we saw some people moving a desk so we helped them.  It was the Micmillins.  They are a part member family and that was the missionaries first time getting back in contact with them.  Now 7 months later I get to see the seed I helped plant [start to] grow!  They are also a part member household and we were able to teach the daughter who is not a member, Ariana!  They said they are planning to come to church this week so boooyaaaaaaa.

We had some members hook us up with some food this week and when we looked in the cooler box he gave us 5 bacon-wrapped garlic stuffed pork loins!  We ended up putting them in the crockpot the next week and they were dang good!

I'm in Lansing

I think I forgot to mention where I'm at now but I'm in Lansing.

Last p-day we went bowling and it was crazy.  They had these supper old monitors that kept track of the score.  They were the old school super deep ones.  We also ordered a large pizza that was 15 bucks and I figured a 15 dollar large pizza would feed three dudes.  It didn't that was the smallest large pizza I have ever eaten.  I could have picked up 3 little Caesars pizzas for the same price.

As far as the people we are teaching here in Lansing, we don't have too many.  The main person to note is Pedro.  He has been meeting with the missionaries for over a year now and he is actually super cool.  We are hoping to meet with him again tonight!

I'm headed back to Lansing!

Nothing exciting happened this week.  We were supposed to go over to Bad Axe for a trade-off, but one of the Elders was sick so we ended up canceling it.  So we had a good 8- 10 hours of knocking that day because we didn't have one lesson lined up, but we were able to see some awesome miracles and we were able to pass out 3 Book of Mormons.  On Thursday we had to go over to Midland to help Elder Richey clean out the Midland apartment.  I was kind of annoyed, but I think it was good for Elder Eccles to see how to do a missionary apartment purge.  We ended up taking out 3 or 4 black garbage bags of trash out of the apartment.

We met with Cody again this week and we had a good visit with him.  His parents were at the lesson and they asked all kinds of crazy questions.  We were able to answer most of their questions, but due to that Cody is of date for a little while.  We're hoping in a couple of weeks we will be able to get things worked out.

We met with Michelle again this week and she asked us how she could join the church!  She has consistently kept her commitments and she is most definitely prepared for the restored gospel!  She also came to church again this week for the second week in a row!

Baptism Crunch Time!

This was pretty dang exciting!  We met with the Shaydiks on Wednesday and we had an amazing lesson!  We went over the gospel of Jesus Christ so Faith, Repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.  We only made it through to baptism but we had an amazing discussion on baptism and how it is necessary to return to live with our Father in Heaven.  We were reading out of the Book of Mormon and the Bible and the spirit was so strong!  We weren't able to put them on baptismal date, but we were able to take some steps closer to it!

We met with Cody this week and we were able to put him on Baptismal date!  We proposed the 22nd but he said the 15th would work better for him.  So far everything has gone well with that and it was definitely the fastest turnaround time between meeting someone to having them on a baptismal date!

Besides that, we had a Zone Conference this week and that was really cool.  Nothing too exciting to note besides learning all about how to work with ward members!
